Households within the study area who complete the full survey are eligible for entry in a prize draw. The study area includes all households within the City of Vancouver. One (1) householder (the primary contact) over the age of 18 will be asked if he or she wishes to enter the prize draw. Households participating in the survey have the option to decline entry in the prize draw.
Employees of R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. or their family members may participate in the survey but are not eligible to be included in the prize draw. Employees of the City of Vancouver may participate in the survey and are eligible to enter into the prize draw, with the exception of the City of Vancouver Transportation Survey project team staff, who, if they participate in the survey, will be excluded from the prize draw.
Prizes include:
Ten (10) $100.00 cash prizes.
One Hundred (100) $25.00 gift certificates to a local merchant.
Odds of winning are approximately 1 in 29 (depending on the final number of completed surveys, and the number of participants that elect to enter the prize draw.)
Winners will be selected entirely at random, within two months of completion of all survey data collection and after R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. has confirmed the valid surveys are complete (in December 2023). Only one prize will be awarded per participant. Winners will be contacted at the telephone number or email address the entrant provided or confirmed during the survey process as the appropriate phone number or email address to contact them at for the purpose of the contest, to inform them that they have won a prize, and the type of prize won, and to arrange for the prize to be sent to them. In the case of prizes having monetary value, winners may request a cash award equivalent to the value of the good at the time of the prize award. Successful completion of the travel survey, which is a detailed multi-step survey, is considered to be the skill-testing element required for eligibility to win a prize.
It is the sole responsibility of the contest entrant to provide a phone number and/or email address at the time of the survey that he/she can be reached at in the future for the purpose of the prize draw. If the contact information provided/confirmed by the winner as the appropriate phone number or email address to contact them at about the prize draw is no longer valid, or if the winner's contact is valid but he/she is unable to be contacted and does not return phone or email messages within two weeks of the first contact attempt, the winner will be considered to have withdrawn from the contest. Prizes unclaimed after the final prize claim deadline expires may be considered forfeit, although a new winner may be randomly selected from the remaining pool of eligible entrants. The prize draw will be administered entirely by R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. including collection of contact information of entrants, random selection of winners, and distribution of prizes. R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. may be contacted at 201-862 Cloverdale Avenue, Victoria BC V8X 2S8 or at 1-800-665-5848 for information about the status of the contest. Contact information collected for the purposes of the prize draw will only be accessible by the staff at R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. for the purposes of administering the prize draw selection and will not be used for any other purpose.
